New Server, New Games and our direction

#1

Hey everyone

We’ve been on our new server for two weeks now and I think we can all agree that things are better from a reliability point of view. The Teamspeak 3 server has been up for 14d 2h 14m 49s and we’ve had no reports of connection trouble to the server from local users or international.

As some of you may be aware of our new server is quite an upgrade from our previous and as a result we want to make the most of what we’ve got. In order to do this and bring attention to what we are/will/and are planning to offer I thought it would be good to make this post.

###Running Game Server:

Minecraft:

Our minecraft server is running on Spigot 1.9 we’ve set it to a 12 player limit for the time being but this may be increased in the future. The server is vanilla-survival style.

Please note, that in order to provide a secure server which does not require unreliable plugins which are also inconvenient in themselves we’ve decided to make our server online-mode. This means you will require an Official Minecraft Account, we know this is not ideal but it does result in a server with fewer trolls and account smurfing.

CSGO:

Our CSGO server is still in beta as we are still in the process of finalizing the server’s backend and the configuration we currently have setup. However, you are welcome to join the game mode is ClassicCompetitive with our own custom competitive config styled on ESL’s, if you are interested in our servers settings check them out here.

The server is set to rotate on the following maps:

  • de_dust2
  • de_nuke
  • de_mirage
  • de_inferno
  • de_cbble

Please note that the server has bot_quota = 0, as this server is primarily for our teams to practise on for tournaments.

We are looking are launching two instances for CSGO a competitive and a casual.

###Future Game Server:

This is where you guys come in, we’re looking to host at least one more game server however our options are limited as some games we can simply not host such as Ark, due to its substantial RAM requirements, and games such as Battlefield 4 due to the licensing agreement EA has with Gameservers.

In terms of games we could host here is a poll please vote on the one you are most interested in:

  • ARMA 3
  • Garry’s Mod
  • Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Rust
  • Starbound
  • 7 Days to Die
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Unreal Tournament (NEW)
  • COD 4

If you think we’ve missed anything, please post the name of the game and possibly double check that it has a dedicated server available to the public.
